What we will do in this project:
Requirements: “Power Point”
1. Each student group will develop a Power Point presentation about one of the 10 Amendments in the Bill of Rights. The presentation's focus will be to persuade an audience that the Amendment they selected should receive the designation "The Most Important Civil Liberty". The presentation MUST be at least THREE minutes in length for a minimum grade.
2. The final presentation MUST include the following:
a. A title slide with the full names of all group members. The slide also must include the name of the Amendment, as well as the class period and school name (Bear Lodge High School, Sundance, Wyoming).
b. At least FOUR sound files must be included their Power Point presentation.
c. At least FIVE pictures must be included, dealing with or relating to the project topic. One picture relating to the topic should appear on the title slide.
d. Each presentation should include a historical analysis of the creation of the Amendment, as well as court cases which strengthen or limit the protections of the Amendment.
e. At the end of the presentation, the group MUST include a bibliography slide listing all sources the group used in the presentation. Any Internet based (web-based) source must include the URL (web address). Wikipedia is NOT to be used as a source.
3. Each student is required to participate in a group and help completing the project. Failure to do so will result in a "zero" grade for the project.
4. Each group will store their presentation during construction and after completion in a computer network folder.
5. Current plans call for finished presentations to be burned to CD, and eventually available for download from a web page on the school corporation web server (probably by the end of the school year.)
6. Evaluation procedure is as follows:
a. The "finished product" is defined as follows: completed Power Point presentation, stored in the network drive folder.
b. Maximum value for the assignment is 100 points. Students should be aware that the major emphasis of grading will be on the historical accuracy and persuasiveness of the group's presentation and their ability to do Power Point.
c. Each student in the group will be awarded the same grade.
D. Each group will be graded according to criteria established in the grading rubric to be provided. Criteria will include portfolio evaluation, creativity, and length of presentation. However, the majority of points awarded will be based on historical accuracy and persuasiveness the group uses in their presentation.
E. Deadline for the project has been set for 2:00 p.m. January 5th.
