Spelling this week will only consist of one list for all. They are assigned 15 words but will only be tested on 10.

Arts:We are continuing our Reading unit on Close Reading learning about Human Rights by studying the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. When you have a chance ask your child about the History of the Human Rights Document.
Writing: We are focusing on the purpose of persuasive writing. Students will go through the writing process to write a letter to their parents using strong reasons to support their opinion of having an exotic animal as a pet.
This week we are continuing with decimals. We are rounding, adding and subtracting decimals. We will be teaching a variety of strategies to add decimals using mental math.
We are continuing our Project Based Unit on the Revolutionary War! We just finished learning about the 13 Colonies and creating a timeline on many important events throughout this war. We will now begin our Newspaper “The Colonial Times” studying the history, government, religion and important people of the colonies. Students are also creating a diorama in Art class representing their important event during the Revolutionary war.
