Ken Rathbun Retires from the Crook County School Board

Twenty years.

That is how long Ken Rathbun has served the students of Crook County as a school board trustee.  This November will be Mr. Rathbun’s last board meeting at CCSD #1, and we wanted to thank him for his long and dedicated service to this county.

In 1979, Mr. Rathbun graduated from the Military Academy at Westpoint with a bachelor's degree in applied science and engineering.  He then served as a captain in the Army Corps of Engineers for the next five years.

Since 1989, he has served our community as the owner of Bearlodge Engineering and Surveying.  In November of 2002, Mr. Rathbun was elected as a Crook County School board Trustee.  Later, he was appointed by Governor Matt Mead to the Wyoming State Board of Education.

After 20 years of serving our school district, Mr. Rathbun has chosen to retire.

The school district and this community have benefited greatly from Mr. Rathbun’s service.  He has been a steadying figure throughout his tenure on the board, and his contribution to the children of our district can not be overstated.

On Monday, November 21, we will be honoring Mr. Rathbun, Mr. Marchant, and Mr. Gill for their time and dedication to our schools and communities.  We invite you to join us at the Moorcroft Secondary School at 6 pm to congratulate these men on their accomplishments.
